# Delete request category

> Delete request category

1. In Settings and maintenance, click the **Requests** button in the navigator and select the **Categories** tab.

2. Click the category name you want to delete.

   <Tip>
     If the category is a subcategory, first click the arrow to the left of the parent category to display the associated subcategories.
   </Tip>

3. Click the **Delete** button at the bottom of the screen.

4. Click **OK**.

5. If there are any requests in the category, choose a new category in the **Transfer requests to** list.

6. Click **OK**. The category is deleted and all the requests are moved to the specified alternative category.
